Dr. Robert Reid – As a researcher from the Institute for Better Health, Dr. Reid will share the theory behind integrated care systems and share models from around the world and their results they have achieved in terms of patient outcomes.
Dr. Dean Roehl – A primary care physician, who previously worked at Group Health in Seattle and now works in our Ontario context in a Community Health Centre, will share his experience of what it is like to work in one of these models – the benefits and the drawbacks – and how it is different from practice in Ontario.
Dr. Mira Backo-Shannon – A local Oakville physician, who also provides clinical leadership at the LHIN, will share insights from her recent trip to the National Health System in England. She will discuss the grassroots approach she observed primary care using to create solutions in their communities.
