About Us

Dr Sohal Goyal is a family physician in Mississauga. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 2000 and completed his residency in Ottawa.   He is currently an assistant clinic professor at the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University and has been teaching for over 15 years. He is the Current Chair of the Mississauga Health Primary Care Network and the Chair of District 5 of the Ontario Medical Association.  He is also a past member of the executive of the Section of General and Family Practice at the OMA.  He is one of the Co-Chairs of the Mississauga Ontario Health team, and one of the primary care leads for the OHT. He is also one of the Regional Primary Care co-leads at Ontario Health.  He is passionate about system transformation and engaging healthcare providers to ensure that they are involved. He is the proud father of 3 boys and lives with his partner in Mississauga. He is a sports fanatic who loves cheering the Raptors, Jays and even the Leafs.  

Dr. Sundeep Banwatt graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto in 1997. Currently practicing comprehensive family medicine in SW Mississauga and is currently the Clinical Director at CarePoint Health since 2020. Dr. Banwatt served on the The Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP) Board of Directors (2015-2021), and was the Primary Care Clinical Lead for the SW Mississauga-Halton LHIN (2017-2019). He completed his master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Waterloo in 2015. He has had experience providing emergency and family medicine in rural Ontario as well as in the province of New Brunswick and has participated in medical volunteer missions in Zimbabwe, Bolivia and Thailand.

Dr. Salesh Budhoo qualified as an MD from the Medical University of South Africa in 1999. He completed a Diploma in Obstetrics in 2002. He relocated to Canada in November 2002 and has worked in Rural Newfoundland & Nova Scotia before moving Ontario in 2010 and has since been practicing Family Medicine and aesthetic medicine with his wife (Dr. N. Rughubir) in Mississauga. He is currently a Physician Peer Leader with Ontario MD and Tariff Lead at the SGFP.

I am a full time community Family Physician in Mississauga for the past 35+ years, a graduate of the University of Toronto. I am Active at Trillium Health Centre and do Obstetrics. I practice Comprehensive Primary Care, from cradle to grave, enjoy the full spectrum of Primary Care from neonates to geriatrics, procedures, acute and chronic illnesses, prevention. I'm as excited today, as I was 35 years ago, with the depth and breadth of family medicine, the forward progress and changing landscape of patient care, and mostly, the many relationships, with thousands of patients, making a positive impact on their lives. I've had the special privilege of delivering women who themselves were delivered by me, over 20 years ago. I led one of the major local clinics, that participated early in Covid immunization clinics, administering almost 15,000 shots, and continue to immunize now.   I am a member of the Primary Care Network, and I have a unique perspective as a senior physician in a large Family Medicine Clinic, of the many challenges, including gross underfunding, over regulation, funding of other professionals to disrupt Primary Care, inequities in funding and staffing, and other ground level front line barriers and pain points in our daily work.  I want to advocate for a less fractured, more united, a higher respected view, better funded system that will positively impact the daily work of Family Physicians.

Dr. Chera grew up in Mississauga after arriving from India at the age of 5. She has studied in different countries and cities, giving her a global view of the true factors necessary for a healthy life.  She is board certified in both Canadian and American Family Medicine and is the co-chair of Preventative Cancer Care in Mississauga. During her residency, she was the principal investigator on a study to introduce and integrate the Gardasil vaccine into her residency program and presented her findings locally and at national conferences.   

Dr. David Daien is a comprehensive care family physician and one of the founding physicians at Summerville Family Health Team.Following his passion for integrated and patient centered primary care, Dr. Daien has held leadership positions for his local Health Link, the Medical Psychiatry Initiative, Trillium Health Partners, and the Quality Program Committee at University of Toronto’s Department of Family and Community Medicine.Dr. Daien has extensive experience leading and implementing digital health projects that support high quality care including co-chairing the Clinical Working Group for Connecting Ontario and leading the first integration between the Ontario Laboratory Information System (OLIS) and an electronic medical record (EMR) system. He also developed one of the first hospital to community EMR integrations.Currently, he is a Board Director at OntarioMD and former Board Chair. He is a Regional Primary Care Lead at Ontario Health and Digital Lead for Mississauga Health OHT. Finally, he is a Adjunct Professor at University of Toronto where he supports student and resident physicians.

I attended the University of Western Ontario and completed a Physiology and Philosophy degree, followed by an MBA at Simon Fraser University and Queen’s University for medical school. I completed my Family Medicine residency through UofT along with a fellowship in Emergency Medicine for rural Ontario Family Doctors. My clinical roles and experience include: urgent care and emergency room medicine, comprehensive family medicine in rural Ontario and surgical assist. I mantain privileges at Trillium Health Partners and Women's College Hospital. I am a member of the OCFP board since 2020 and joined the board of Mississauga Health Primary Care Network in the spring of 2022.

When a leadership team reflects the diversity of the community of family physicians, it allows us to drive change. I have been a part of the PCN board for the last four years. In just two short years and through a pandemic, I have seen firsthand what a difference this group can make in primary care. From hosting webinars and well-being events to getting interested physicians into vaccination clinics and high-needs areas, the work of the PCN has proven invaluable to the health of our physician and patient community. As we have seen, the healthcare environment continues to change, and it is increasingly difficult to keep up with both understanding the systemic changes and adapting to them. The MH PCN is a platform for more honest conversations about collaborative approaches to stay informed, empowered, and committed to enhancing physician and patient care.
